Today is a Friday. And TGIF is a term probably we would forget post the lockdown. It should be recoined as WCIF, Who-Cares-Its-Friday.
So today I just feel like soaking my eyes on some old holiday pics. Like the throwback holiday series.
So I officially declare Fridays as a Throwback Fridays.
Last October we soaked in the Goa sun and the sand and the seafood. Here are a collection of pics which probably defines the picturesque Goa and our wonderful flight-cum-Road trip.
We decided to go to Goa during the October holidays. You know how crowded and pricey a trip to Goa can get at that time! But yeah, we were late planners. We booked plain tickets to and from Hubbali and the drove from Hubbali to Goa using a self driven Innova. Though the Innova was a pretty broken down one, in this post we focus on only the goody-goody things during the trip.
First stop - Hubbali Airport. - cute airport where you walk from the runway to the terminal and back.
OK now the drive from Hubbali to Goa is probably one of the most superb drives I have had. The innumerable waterfalls and the mind numbing greenery and the huge gorges. Yea very breathtaking.
And that's our Innova. Just for MEMORY. Who is going to remember the suspension less drive and the flat tire?
Anyways moving on. 3 days of Goa. We soaked in all the beauty. The state was yet coming out of a furious monsoon. So everything looked heartily green and sparkling blue and adjective less sand.
This was a private beach of the resort we were staying at.
We had to tug him out of those sandy beaches. This little one.
That is not a bum. It my brother who is trying a great angle for a nature photo. Little crazy. It is hard to say who is saner of the 2 siblings.
That's more like it!
So here we are following Google map to the Bom Jesus Church. We like every modern tourist trust the narrow ways Google shows us than what the local guy told us.
So here is an advise. Don't take left just because Google told you to. We were guided the wrong way to Bom Jesus Nachinola. Which is Not the famous church for St Francis. Every street has a church and this one was just as beautiful. Sadly not open for public.
We again stopped at a random lake. Supposed to be a lake for migratory birds.
It was tough covering the museum as we were tugging along our 10 month old infant in the sweltering afternoon heat.
We then stopped over at Ritz classic for lunch. What a feast I say. It was probably the best sea food we have ever eaten. This coming from a malayali who has sea food as staple in her meals. Oh. I have tears in my eyes. We didn't click a picture there.
No living memory to look at. Just that we would never have licked our fingers so much.
Evening came and we went off to the cruise, which I didn't think was my favourite. I would have preferred one of the countless beaches in Goa.
We rested our famished bodies promising our little boys the beach the next day.
Fast forward to next day. Here we are at the Calangute beach. And I found my love for beaches renewed all over again.
Noon came and we went off to Fort Aguada.
I cherish this pic with my Dad.
This place was sweteringly hot. But yes, how can you visit Goa and not tick the place.
Next up, Baga beach. Beautiful but so swelling with tourists. It was not the Baga beach I visited for my 10std excursion. It was more crowded than the KR market in Bangalore. Again a place that must be visited just for the night life.

Aww. My Boys they are.
And there you go our 2 day visit of Goa was over. There is so much more to see.
I plead to the Almighty to give me a chance to go there again and again and again. Soon after this pandemic. That is where I am headed to with a suitcase and my accompaniments.
Leaving you with some uncaptioned photos.
Anyways signing off with a happy heart.

P. S. This lockdown has been a big bummer for the tourism and the hospitality industry.. My heart goes out to those families who earn their livelihood with these careers. I wish it was never like this for them, who serve us so well wherever we go. Let's hope we come stronger and more resilient after this.
